Firm Summary

Scott Orloff’s practice focuses on domestic relations matters including divorce, support, custody and equitable distribution. Scott also assists clients with legal needs relating to social security, collections and general litigation. His notable achievements include helping a client secure and collect a multimillion-dollar award in a case in which the client’s husband left the country to pursue business opportunities abroad. During the pendency of the litigation in the federal district and bankruptcy courts, issues arose related to the sale of an international hedge fund, and Scott thereafter negotiated a positive settlement for his client. He has helped countless custody clients obtain favorable results, including the return of children who have been wrongfully removed from the jurisdiction. One such matter involved the return of a child taken to Hawaii by her father in violation of an existing custody order.

As people’s lives have become more complex and complicated, their domestic relations issues have become more challenging and stressful. With 30 years of family-law experience, Scott brings wisdom earned in the trenches and tremendous empathy to bear in helping clients resolve those difficult matters.

Scott serves as a volunteer lawyer with Philadelphia VIP (Volunteers for the Indigent Program), a program providing legal services for low-income residents and families facing civil legal problems that threaten their basic human needs, such as shelter, employment and health care. He also acts as a volunteer child advocate, safeguarding the interests of children whose families are in crisis. Scott joins others at the firm in believing it is incumbent upon lawyers to provide pro bono legal representation to individuals and families who would otherwise find themselves without legal assistance.
