In his litigation career, Mr. Day has also handled cases from the Tri-Cities in East Tennessee to Jackson in West Tennessee, and from Byrdstown in Northern Tennessee to Chattanooga in Southern Tennessee. These include many cases in Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga. Mr. Day graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Tennessee State University in 1980. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in just 15 months. His honors and activities included membership in Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies.

While he was attending East Tennessee State University, Mr. Day was also enrolled at the University of Tennessee in 1980 as a special student in Chinese. He earned all credits by examination.

Mr. Day attended law school at the University of Tennessee College of law, and in May 1984, Mr. Day earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree with high honors and in the top 10% of class. While in law school, Mr. Day also served as an assistant editor for the Tennessee Law Review.

Mr. Day has practiced in a general civil practice with primary emphasis on personal injury, car and truck claims, attorney malpractice, creditor bankruptcy representation, and commercial, real estate, contract and business practice and litigation.

Licensing: State Courts: Mr. Day was admitted to practice law in Tennessee in 1984, and is licensed to practice in every Tennessee state court, including the Tennessee Supreme Court and the Tennessee Courts of Appeal.

Federal Courts: Mr. Day is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee, as well as the United States Bankruptcy Courts of the Middle and Eastern Districts. He was admitted to practice before the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in 1990. In that same year, he was also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
