Firm Summary

Angel M. Alexander was born in Durham, North Carolina, where she spent most of her childhood before moving to California in 2013. Her long-term dream has always revolved around helping underrepresented populations in critical areas where their voices need to be heard and recognized.

Angel completed her undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She went on to pursue a Master of Science Degree in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and Occupational Health from Meharry Medical College. While there, she completed her thesis using data collected during her research at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City, Nigeria.

Angel later enrolled in Golden Gate University School of Law, San Francisco, where she earned her law degree. Given her interest in public health issues and advocacy, Angel became an active member of the Students for Sensible Drug Policies. This international student-led organization aims to create positive change through effective and fair drug policies.

While in law school, Angel was privileged to work as a law clerk at the Law Offices of John Burris. It was there that she met her supervising attorneys Adanté Pointer and Patrick Buelna. Angel worked closely with Adanté and Patrick as a member of their trial team for Anthony Nuñez v. City of San Jose (a case where SJPD officers shot and killed a 19-year-old young man on his porch who was suicidal). Angel’s efforts helped secure a $2.65 million verdict in favor of their clients.

Angel’s primary focus has been in employment discrimination and looks forward to representing all her clients vigorously. She recently helped to secure a multimillion-dollar civil rights settlement against a large construction company for racial discrimination against minorities.

Angel is passionate about fairness and equity, especially for minority communities whose rights are regularly threatened. She is a proponent of equal representation in the legal field of women of color. Angel will use her platform as a black female attorney to represent and fight for the rights of minority groups both in the courtroom and in her community.
