Firm Summary
Christian Foster has been trying cases from Kittery to Caribou for over 22 years. The cornerstone of his practice involves open and honest communication with his clients to develop a close working relationship and teamwork approach as the case or controversy at issue proceeds through the justice system. Christian invests the time necessary to know his clients, to understand what is most important to them, and to lay out an understandable path forward through the legal process to achieve the desired outcome.
Christian’s dedicated approach has enabled him to help thousands of clients and their loved ones piece back their lives after being seriously injured by the intentional or negligent conduct of others. He has a reputation for being tough but fair and routinely obtains some of the highest verdicts and settlements in the State. Christian’s primary focus is personal injury, professional negligence, product liability, and complex business disputes.
Christian became a member of the Bar of the State of Maine, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States First Circuit Court of Appeals, and District Court for the District of Maine shortly after graduating with honors from the University of Maine School of Law in 2000. Upon graduation, he transitioned from a law clerk to a full-time attorney in a dynamic and successful civil and criminal trial firm on the waterfront in Portland, Maine. He is an active member of the Maine State Bar Association, serves on the Board of Governors for the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, is a peer reviewer for the American Association of Justice, and was selected by his peers to be a member of the Edward Thaxter Gignoux Inn of Courts. Christian has presented on Civil Rights suits, the appellate process, and the trial process at the University of Maine School of Law, Maine State Bar Association, Maine Trial Lawyers Association, and regional continuing legal education seminars. Throughout his career, he has been recognized as a leading advocate for plaintiffs. He was recently selected as one of the Top 100 Civil Plaintiffs Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Association.
When he is not in the office or at Court, Christian enjoys spending time with his family and all the outdoor activities the Maine mountains, woods, and waters offer. He volunteers as a coach for the Town of Cape Elizabeth football, basketball, and baseball teams. Christian is an active boating member of the Centerboard Yacht Club and a recreational lobsterman.
