Firm Summary

After graduating from LSU in 1991, I immediately entered law school at the Paul M. Hebert law center. Looking back, I feel extremely fortunate to have entered on the cusp of our law school’s transition; I had both the benefit of the final teaching years of some of the “old guard” who were teaching when my parents attended, had written many a treatise (if not actually drafted versions of the law we studied), and carried with them the gravitas of the traditional law school experience, as well as the benefit of catching the first teaching years of some talented new professors just entering the profession, as the law center began to morph into a more modern concept of law school.

In my 25 years of practice, I have worked with a number of local law firms to gain experience in a broad range of civil litigation, including: medical malpractice, personal injury, mass-tort pharmaceutical and product liability litigation (MDL), Social Security Disability, complex commercial litigation both in commercial construction litigation and general business litigation, residential construction contracting and litigation, and contractual issues in entity formation, regulation and dissolution involving franchising, hiring/firing, non-solicitation, “non-compete”, and drafting of internal operating documents. Gratifyingly, I was able to handle a complex pair of tort/civil rights and retaliation/civil rights cases involving the niche of special education and related laws (IDEA, ADA, Sec. 504) and then have the experience of being a business owner (learning my clients’ perspective!) while still helping families in need.

My skills in case-strategizing, litigation, management of client expectations, and analysis/management of voluminous document production have helped me reach beneficial solutions for my clients, even in difficult and contentious situations.
