Dean is a 1991 graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, obtaining his B.A. history. He graduated from the University of Utah College of Law (now the S.J. Quinney College of Law), receiving his Juris Doctor in 1995. He served as a law clerk for the Utah Appellate Courts from 1994 to 1995.
Dean was an attorney for the Central Valley-based insurance defense firm McCormick Barstow LLP, acting as the managing partner of its Modesto office, before founding The Law Offices of Dean Petrulakis in 2012.
Dean is active in many legal and civic organizations. Dean grew up in Modesto and lives there with his loving wife, Laura, and three beautiful children, Adrianna, Eleni & Andoni. They enjoy traveling, attending Giants games and being active in the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Modesto.
