Professional Experience
Ed began his professional career as an accounting supervisor for YH America, Inc., a Japanese-owned manufacturer of automotive air conditioning and power steering components. Ed became a Certified Management Accountant in 1992. He also served as a cost accountant for Johnson Controls, Inc., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of automotive components. Ed worked closely with all levels of management to form strategic alliances and to improve product cost and quality.

In 1999, Ed began his litigation career with Frost Brown Todd, LLC, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the Louisville area. Ed focused his practice on commercial litigation, insurance defense, products liability, mass-tort and personal injury litigation. In this capacity, he successfully mediated a substantial number of personal injury cases, resolving the subrogation interests of one of the area’s largest healthcare insurance providers. In addition, Ed also worked closely with several local builders and contractors resolving a wide range of construction related disputes. Ed routinely was selected to assist in large-scale document collection, coding and production projects in products liability cases.

In 2002, Ed moved to Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC, another prestigious regional law firm, to concentrate heavily on commercial litigation. Ed focused his practice on complex accounting, contract and trade secret issues. In addition, he continued to represent builders, contractors, subcontractors and homeowners in construction related disputes. Ed also represented creditors and debtors in adversary proceedings in bankruptcy. He coordinated and conducted a nationwide collection of documents and witness interviews in asbestos-premises liability litigation for one of the world’s largest manufacturers of consumer goods. He has successfully arbitrated and mediated numerous cases.

On January 1, 2011, Ed founded the Skees Law Office to put his background and experience representing corporations and insurance companies to use helping individuals and families recover damages for the injuries they suffered as a result of the negligence or intentional acts of others. Ed has successfully represented individuals in a wide variety of cases including automobile accidents, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, business law, ERISA discrimination, foreclosure defense, breach of contract and personal injury cases.
