Firm Summary

Creative and imaginative, we are a NY personal injury law firm in Plainview, Long Island serving all of New York City and its surrounding areas. We provide high quality legal services in a very personal, comfortable and respectful setting. We love our work and we love to help our clients succeed.

As the firm’s principal, Elan Wurtzel is a respected and successful personal injury attorney who, along with his dedicated staff, has defended the rights of clients for over 35 years. We have successfully helped hundreds of people navigate through the often complicated legal system. Compassionate and attentive with our clients, we are assertive when it’s time to fight for what is right.

My practice’s comprehensive resume includes accident cases of all types: car accidents, workplace injuries, slip and fall accidents, construction accidents, nursing home negligence, and premises liability. We also expertly handle family law and divorce law, estate planning and administration, real estate law and litigation.

We have lawyers in Nassau County that also serve Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and The Bronx through our Plainview, Long Island law office. We are a small NY personal injury law firm by design, enabling us to offer prompt and personal answers to your questions and clear explanations of your options. At our law offices, excellent service is not merely a catchphrase.

Admitted to the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations, local Federal courts, and the United States Supreme Court, Elan Wurtzel earned his legal degree at the prestigious New York University Law School (NYU). Elan Wurtzel is a member of multiple area bar associations and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

Elan Wurtzel extends his passion and dedication that he has for his law practice to his community. Elan enjoys his work as a member of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Chamber of Commerce board of directors. As its president from 2014-2018, the chamber experienced historic growth. One of Elan’s proudest accomplishments during this time was the commissioning of an elegant 9/11 Memorial sculpture at his town’s library. It contains a piece of steel from the World Trade Center and stands as a testament to the community’s resilience and a symbol of hope for future generations.

In addition to Elan’s service in various professional and bar associations, he has coached soccer and basketball, acted mentor at the Jericho Middle Schooland been an adviser to his local high school mock trial team (Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School). He is also an avid reader, gardener, and bicyclist. A Plainview resident for 32 years, Elan resides with his wife, Gail. He is a proud father to his sons Matthew and Joshua and is enjoying his newest role as an enthusiastic grandfather.

In college I became active in several social action groups, working with senior citizens and becoming active in a Speaker’s Bureau. I met a lot of different people, and saw families struggle through difficult times and triumph over their obstacles. These experiences triggered ideas about my future and how to make the world a better place.

I thought about the things I liked to do: meet new people, learn new things and help solve problems. Becoming a personal injury lawyer seemed to be an ideal profession where I could do all of these things. I attended NYU Law School and found that the law was an exciting place for new ideas and challenging solutions to the issues of the day.
