Attorney Maurer was admitted to the New York bar in 1980 and has established law in several reported cases. He has also been admitted to practice in various federal courts in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Our injury attorney has been voluntarily working as a federal court mediator in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York for over 20 years.

After devastation hit America in World Trade Center Disaster, Ira M. Maurer represented victims and the surviving family members of victims without compensation to help our country and its citizens heal.

For ten years, he was a member of the board of directors for the Lyme Disease Foundation. Mr. Maurer is considered the forefather of Lyme disease-related litigation in the United States, having won the first negligence-based case in the country on behalf of four signal department workers against the Long Island Railroad. He has been a guest speaker on the subject as well.

Ira Maurer’s education began with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harpur College, the liberal arts school at the State University of New York at Binghamton, followed by a Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law. He has been married for over 30 years and has two daughters.
