James J. Spann was admitted to the New York State Bar as an attorney in 1985 and the District of Columbia in 1986. He has argued cases in Federal Court, New York State Appellate Court and the Supreme Courts of this State, as well Surrogate and Family Courts. He has also held the positions of Village and/or Town Magistrate since 1987.

Mr. Spann has been a past president of the Chautauqua County Bar Association, and also held other officer positions with same. Mr. Spann holds memberships with the New York State Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, and the Northern Chautauqua County Bar Association, as well as the New York Magistrates Association.

Mr. Spann’s commitment to the County of Chautauqua community includes his participation as a former board member of the Chautauqua County Legal Services, Jamestown Family Services, and the Westfield Counseling Services, and a guest lecturer for the PEACE Program.
