Jason A. Matt is a 2006 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, ranked second in his class, and was a finalist for most outstanding mechanical engineering graduate. He obtained a law degree from Loyola College of Law in New Orleans in 2010.

Prior to law school, Mr. Matt worked as an engineer in the oil and gas industry, focusing primarily on oil well equipment design and operation for a major international oil field service company.

His engineering background provides his clients with a unique and immediate advantage over the insurance company due to his ability to reconstruct accident scenes and knowledge of mechanics, from the bodily movements, forces and stress placed upon a person involved in an accident to the mechanics of various products and equipment such as their design, manufacturing, function and failures. That knowledge has helped him recover millions of dollars for his clients, and is particularly important when handling oilfield and 18-wheeler accidents, as well as low impact collisions.

Following law school, he worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Richard T. Haik in the federal Western District Court of Louisiana. He joined Matt & Allen in 2011, eventually earning his way to become an equity partner in the firm due to his success in handling all areas of personal injury cases, but exhibiting the unique ability to handle 18 wheeler (any commercial vehicle) accidents, oilfield accidents and products liability cases.
