Firm Summary

Joseph P. Marasco, together with Donna M. Nesselbush, founded Marasco & Nesselbush in 1999. A lifelong resident of Rhode Island, Joe has successfully litigated, arbitrated, and mediated personal injury and medical negligence cases in all of Rhode Island’s state and federal trial courts. He has received accolades for his legal advocacy, resulting in precedent-setting rulings and multi-million-dollar awards in medical negligence, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury cases.

Growing up as one of eight children in an Irish-Italian home, the values Attorney Marasco carries with him today were instilled at a young age – to work hard, serve others and stand up for what’s right. As the managing partner of the firm’s personal injury and medical negligence practice group, Joe has built a team of experienced and dedicated attorneys that has helped cultivate the firm’s reputation for excellence. He is grateful to lead a group of highly skilled attorneys who embody the spirit of the firm while providing outstanding legal care to their clients.

Joe is the former President of the Rhode Island Association for Justice and continues to serve on its board of directors. He also is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum of the Top Trial Lawyers in America and has been included among the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers. Joe has been named to the prestigious Thomson Reuters list of Super Lawyers based on peer recognition and professional achievement and honored as a “Best Lawyer” by the U.S. News & World Report.

Joe earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986 and went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University School of Law in 1991, where he was recognized for professional ethics and trial advocacy. Joe is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island and the United States District Court.
