My Philosophy
My passion for the law grows out of my love of working with clients to solve their problems. I pride myself on knowing my clients well. Not just their legal issues, but also the things that are truly important to them, their priorities and their hopes for the future. I strive to not just solve clients’ current issues but to help them to be successful long after my representation is completed.
An attorney-client relationship is a very special thing to me and is paramount to reaching successful outcomes. Judges, prosecutors, trustees, adjusters and opposing attorneys always make note of how well I know my client’s case and how well I know my client.
Every representation at my law firm starts with a lengthy intake meeting, sometimes stretching into two separate meetings if necessary. There, we can begin to establish this critical relationship by listening to our client’s story, understanding their situation and learning their goals. Only then can we start confirming facts, advising them on the applicable law and gathering evidence. In subsequent meetings, we will review options and discuss potential obstacles to our success.
I am, by nature, very straightforward and open with my clients about my thought process in cases. I believe that clients should be inspired to reach their goals, even in the face of great adversity, and be made aware of any possible impediments and challenges. Through this informed attorney-client relationship, clients gain the kind of meaningful representation they deserve.
Some of the most rewarding work that I do involves working with clients suffering from addiction and/or mental health concerns. I often work with parents and family members to help these individuals find stability and hope for the future as we navigate through their legal problems. I have been greatly enriched by being able to be a part of my clients’ recovery during the course of this kind of case. I have extensive experience working with psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors, specialists, evaluators and other professionals and rely on this extensive network of past connections as I advise my clients on what may be the next best steps. I offer the temperament, respect, patience and experience to help clients who are struggling with addiction and mental health concerns and look forward to being involved in more of these complex and rewarding cases.
