Kyle P. Cottner was born and raised near St. Louis, Missouri. As a seventh-grader, Kyle watched his mother suffer a devastating personal injury accident which left her with a broken hip requiring surgery and three steel screws. It was his mother’s pain and suffering during her weeks of bed rest and the lifelong effects of her injury that motivated Kyle to become a lawyer.

After graduating from high school where he was a three-time All-State track and field athlete, Kyle accepted an academic scholarship to attend the University of Missouri – St. Louis. While an undergraduate, Kyle was on the Dean’s List and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key Honor Societies. In 2009, Kyle graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Criminology and Legal Studies. Kyle went on to receive his law degree in 2012 from Saint Louis University where he graduated Cum Laude. Kyle supported himself during college and law school by working nights and weekends as a law clerk at a prestigious St. Louis personal injury and criminal defense law firm.

During this time, Kyle was mentored by experienced trial attorneys and participated in numerous jury trials and settlement conferences. These experiences fueled his desire to help those in need and impressed upon him the importance of unrelenting representation that is both personal to the client and powerful in the courtroom.

After graduating from law school, Kyle immediately moved to Las Vegas where he passed the bar examination and accepted a position with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. At the District Attorney’s Office Kyle worked in the Appellate Division where he honed his legal research and writing skills and wrote over 10 Appeals which were successfully argued before the Nevada Supreme Court.

Kyle then left the DA’s office to become a trial attorney. Over the next five years, Kyle was one of the most active trial attorneys in Las Vegas, successfully trying over seventeen jury trials and over one hundred evidentiary hearings. Through those experiences, Kyle became known for his tenacious representation and unwavering dedication to achieving the best possible outcome for his clients

In June of 2017, Kyle was hand-selected to attend the two-week National Trial Practice Institute at Mercer Law School in Macon, Georgia. Because of his success in trying a wide variety of cases, Kyle was placed in the most advanced group of the 200 nationally recognized trial attorneys at the Institute. There, Kyle received specialized training on demonstrative evidence, dynamic case presentation and cross-examination.

Kyle primarily practices in the areas of Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, and DUI Defense. In his free time Kyle enjoys traveling, hanging out with his family, and watching sports.
