Robert is one of the founding partners of Actus Law Droit. He left the firm in 2011 to serve as the Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe. He was subsequently appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General. He rejoined the firm in 2015 and focuses in the areas of corporate and commercial law, bankruptcy and insolvency law, civil litigation and personal injury law.

A fluently bilingual native of Moncton, Robert holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (1980) degree from the Université de Moncton, from where he also graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree (1983). He was admitted to the bar in 1984.

He is actively involved in the legal profession and has lectured at the bar admission course in the areas of bankruptcy and insolvency law, corporate and commercial law, and civil litigation. He was also the course leader in the bankruptcy and insolvency course. As well, he has lectured at Mount Allison University and the Université de Moncton.

In his role as Parliamentary Secretary during his term as Member of Parliament, Robert piloted legislation and reports through the House of Commons’ Justice Committee and the Special Committee on Violence against Indigenous Women. He is also a past president of the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick.

A strong believer in giving back to the community, Robert is the past chairman of Enterprise Greater Moncton (now 3+ Corporation), past president of the Moncton West and Riverview Rotary Club, past president of the Moncton Elks Club 229 and past president of Moncton Headstart. As well, he has served as a member of the Canada Pension Plan Tribunal in New Brunswick.

While Member of Parliament Robert successfully orchestrated the transfer of Building 66 from the Department of National Defense to Food Depot Alimentaire.  He previously served on the Food Depot Alimentaire’s fundraising campaign committee. Presently he is a member of the House of Nazareth Board of Directors.

Robert is a fan of the New England Patriots NFL team and enjoys attending games in person when he can. He resides in Moncton with his wife Lori. They have three children.
