Commitment
Inspired by an automobile insurance company’s mistreatment of his sister in a nearly-fatal car accident, which left Sherwin’s sister with a broken neck, Sherwin S. Arzani has made a commitment to defend the rights of people who have been wrongfully harmed by the negligence of others. As a result of his commitment, Sherwin Arzani has secured millions of dollars in settlements and judgments for his clients.
As a managing partner and one of the founders of Citywide Law Group, Sherwin Arzani reminds himself, on a daily basis, of the profound effect that his sister’s accident had on each member of his family, especially when he recalls the fear, uncertainty, and need for help his family felt when they stared in the face of potential tragedy. It is this reminder that gives Sherwin the ability to connect with his clients on a level that most attorneys could not begin to understand.
Thus, when establishing Citywide Law Group, Sherwin made a commitment that, no matter how many millions of dollars he secured for his clients, and no matter how big or small the case, he would never forget that each individual client he represents is a human being, dealing with their own pain, suffering and loss. He also made a commitment to never allow Citywide Law Group to become another one of the countless, numbers-oriented, robotic “mill” law firms that look at their clients as pure numbers, rather than as human beings that need help.
In addition, Sherwin also reminds himself, on a daily basis, of how, despite the fact that his sister, who was an innocent, backseat passenger that was ejected from a vehicle that rolled over on the freeway, causing her to suffer a broken neck, a soulless insurance company had the audacity to try to limit the compensation due to her by law.
He remembers, every single day, how the mistreatment of his sister by the auto insurance company ignited a fire inside of him to protect the rights of people like his sister against these multi-billion dollar insurance companies, whose goals include minimizing compensation to deserving victims, who need help to pay their astronomical past, present and future medical bills, compensation for her pain and suffering and compensation for the other intangible changes to their lives.
Although at the time of her accident, Sherwin was a local high school student at Pacific Palisades High School and was too young to use the legal system to protect his sisters’ rights, it was at such a young age that he chose to pursue a career in law to protect the rights of the innocent victim against the multi-billion dollar insurance machines that are more interested in the bottom line than in protecting the human being that they supposedly insure.
