I have been in practice for approximately ten years. The vast majority of that time has been handling personal injury matters. From simple auto accidents to six and seven figure Jones Act/Offshore cases, I have a consistent track record of successfully fighting and beating insurance companies. My constant focus on the needs of each, individual client has been a huge part of my success. I am a shrewd negotiator who takes pride in settling client’s cases for the maximum amount possible. However, as a litigator at heart, with a deep sense of justice, I am equally willing to proceed to trial, if doing so is what is best for my clients.

While in law school I was honored to be chosen, among several candidates, to serve as a law clerk for attorney, D. Douglas Howard, one of the most prestigious, accomplished and prominent family law attorneys in New Orleans. While serving as his clerk, I worked closely with Mr. Howard, assisting him with complex family law litigation, including, but not limited to motion hearings, trials, appeal briefs and oral arguments to the Louisiana Supreme Court.

The experience I received while working for Mr. Howard resulted in a love for this work. As such, Family Law is one of Gilder Law’s primary practice areas. I have successfully handled complex, contested custody matters, community property partitions with assets valued in excess of one million dollars and routinely represent clients in divorce proceedings, including issues of child custody, child support and spousal support. I feel strongly that the life-changing issues involved in Family Law matters are best handled by an attorney who possesses in-depth experience and dedication to this area of law.

My skills as a litigator have broadened my practice to include the area of business litigation. I only represent businesses owned and operated by real people and their families. My clients are the “Mom and Pop” companies of this country whose success is a direct result of hard work and commitment. While I proud to represent Fortune 500 companies, the majority of my business clients are not as large and a judgment in one lawsuit has the ability to completely bankrupt them.

While these clients know how to succeed in business, all of them, no matter how large or small, are unfamiliar with the process of civil litigation. Unexpectedly finding themselves embroiled in litigation threatens to drain the time and energy needed to run their businesses. My skills as a litigator allows me to lift this burden from my business clients and handle their litigation. In turn, they are able to continue doing what they do best, which is successfully running their businesses.

My strong sense of justice has recently lead to an expansion of Gilder Law’s practice areas to include traffic citation defense and DUI defense. Neither a DUI violation and arrest nor a traffic violation serve as proof of guilt. The system involved with issuing these violations is quite flawed and, in my experience, only a small percentage of those cited can actually be proven guilty at trial. Many existing clients have sought my assistance when faced with losing their livelihood as a result of a DUI or traffic violation, most of which were not warranted. My commitment to representing and defending the rights of hard working people is the primary reason Gilder Law is now accepting these cases.
