Terrence J. Lestelle (Terry) and his wife Andrea Lestelle started their law firm more than 25 years ago. Terry served as a law clerk to both a United States District Court Judge in the Eastern District of Louisiana and a Louisiana Supreme Court Justice.
Terry has helped countless seamen and other individuals with their maritime and admiralty law claims, longshoremen’s and harbor workers’ claims and all types of injury cases.

Terry earned a Master of Laws, an LL.M in Maritime law, from the University of London in London, England. He is designated a Proctor in Admiralty, the highest ranking for practicing maritime lawyers by the Maritime Law Association of the United States. He was honored as a Leader in Law by New Orleans City Business in 2011.

He holds a J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review, and an undergraduate degree from Tulane University.

He has taught law students at Loyola University School of Law and Tulane University Law School. He regularly lectures to other attorneys at legal seminars.

Terry is co-chairman of the Community Action Committee of the Louisiana Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association of the United States and the Louisiana Association for Justice, for which he served on the Board of Governors.

Terry is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th, 10th and 11th Circuits and all Federal Courts in Louisiana and Mississippi. He is licensed in Louisiana, Mississippi and Colorado. He has also been admitted pro hac vice to handle cases in many other state and federal courts.

When not in a courtroom, Terry spends much of his leisure time playing basketball in three different basketball leagues. He also enjoys playing piano and cheering for the Saints and Pelicans.
